The Dunamaise Arts Centre is proud to present Living Architecture in Laois, a free six week lecture and drawing series, which started at the Dunamaise Arts Centre yesterday, Wednesday, June 2nd and will continue each week until July 7th.
Participants will undertake a study of architecture in Laois and how it affects our lives and society from restored churches to modern applications of listed buildings to housing estates built during the boom. Several locations will form the basis of the study, including Portarlington Town Centre (at the French Church) on June 9th ; Abbeyleix Library on June 23rd; Heywood Gardens, Ballinakill on June 30th ; St. John’s Church Coolbanagher on June 30th and Dunamaise Arts Centre on July 7th, Each talk starts at 7.30pm at the locations and dates specified.
The project, which acknowledges the financial assistance, provided by the Environment Fund of the Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local Government will be lead by architect Ross McNamara and artist Conor Brennan.
