The fifth annual Open House Dublin returns on 7 – 10 October 2010! Over one weekend, Dublin buildings of all types and periods will open up their doors to allow citizens explore the architecture of their city, with special tours by hundreds of professionals and enthusiasts, completely for free.
2010 is an exceptional year in Irish architecture as it sees the completion of several large-scale projects in Dublin city. To mark these new urban landmarks as well as the innovative work of Irish architects across all scales, Open House Dublin has adopted the theme – Big, Small, Global. Open House Dublin is a unique opportunity to explore the city in all its dimensions.
Open House Dublin also includes walking and cycling tours, talks, exhibitions, and the popular Open Debate. Chaired by John Bowman, the Open Debate will be held on Thursday 7th October and will ask a panel of experts “Does Size Matter?”, exploring ideas of the physical scale of the built environment and also our perception of architecture across all scales.
